# Vocdoni > Vocdoni is open-source, end-to-end verifiable online voting for organizations that need a result nobody has to take on trust. Voters can check that their own ballot was counted and anyone can check the tally, while ballots stay secret by cryptography rather than by policy. It is available as a self-service app, as managed election projects run with our team, and as an API and SDK for building voting into your own product. EU-hosted and GDPR compliant, with a free plan that needs no credit card. Vocdoni has three products. Vocdoni App is self-service online voting: import your member list, configure a ballot, send it, and publish a result your members can verify, with no IT team required. Vocdoni Projects is a managed service where our team runs a high-stakes or non-standard election end to end alongside you, from configuration through to certified verifiable results. The Vocdoni API and TypeScript SDK let you build organizations, censuses, voting processes and results directly into your own software, including multi-tenant setups where you run elections for your own customers. End-to-end verifiable means two specific guarantees. Recorded as cast: each voter can confirm their own ballot was captured correctly. Counted as recorded: anyone can verify that the published tally is the correct sum of all recorded ballots. Neither check reveals how any individual voted. Because the evidence and the method are public, no single party, including Vocdoni, has to be trusted for the result to be believed. That is the difference between a platform that produces a result and asks you to trust it, and one that produces a result and proves it. Capability sits at three levels. The underlying open-source protocol is general purpose: it can express any voting method and any voter authentication method, so anything not already exposed can be implemented. The API offers four named ballot types out of the box - single choice, multiple choice, ranked, and cumulative for budget and quadratic voting - and any other shape through a raw ballot-protocol override, alongside weighted voting, a different electorate per question, vote overwrite, and tallies that stay encrypted until voting closes; voters are authenticated by email or SMS one-time codes and by custom census fields. The Vocdoni App deliberately exposes a smaller, self-service subset of that surface. If an organization needs a voting method or an authentication flow the app does not show, it can be built on the API or delivered as a managed project. Anonymity is configurable rather than all-or-nothing. Zero-knowledge cryptography can separate a voter's identity from their ballot so that no administrator, and not Vocdoni, can link the two, while the tally stays publicly verifiable. Organizations that need a named or open roll can run without it. Vote overwrite, which lets a voter silently change their choice while voting is open so only the last one counts, is available as a countermeasure against coercion and vote buying. On compliance: data is hosted in the EU, the platform is built around GDPR data minimization and acts as a data processor under a written agreement, and every election produces a full audit trail and a certified results document meant to be defensible if the outcome is challenged. Where an organization's statutes permit electronic participation, this is the evidence pack its legal advisers and auditors ask for. The Vocdoni Association, a non-profit based in Switzerland, is the guarantor of the open-source code and of core protocol development. Vocdoni has been running elections since 2018, has processed more than 200,000 votes for over 500 organizations, and no Vocdoni result has ever been successfully challenged on grounds of integrity. The same infrastructure and the same guarantees serve a 20-person club and organizations with well over 100,000 members.
